WOAH! You did that all yourself? I really wish K&N or someone made an air intake like that. It looks awesome man, you're very lucky.

Is this something that is made to work with your SC system only?

Looks great, but I am hesitant to state that you will see ALOT of HP gain from your awesome looking intake system. I can see 2 sides of this mod. 1. CAI is pulling in MORE air quicker with ALOT less restriction = more HP. 2. The CAI is also sitting right above some HOT headers and is sucking in some major HOT, less dense air = less HP. One other contributor to this intake is that the intake is getting turbulent air also, meaning that the flow of air coming into the filter is sporatic due to the fan wash.

Otherwise, I think it looks great! You are almost there for a great mod. All you need now is a Heat shield and fan wash shield.

This is off a BMW but something like this would be awesome.

Someone can make a ton of money if they made a "system" like this

Great Job! That looks really good. Actually, that looks reaaallly good.

Couple questions:

1. What type of filter did you use? looking for a non-oiled filter to replace mine and those look perfect.

2. Hows the Gen 2 system treating you??

Looks good. Was discussing this mod with someone at AMG and he said everything that Dan Wang said. You stand to gain some hp over the stock airbox (I know you have a s/c, this comment is for general aufience) with a setup like that in addition to a heat shield because you're not sucking in the air and passing it over top of a HOT engine. Cooler temps = more hp. One caution though, make sure you dont run over a big puddle of water. If you get enough water in there say goodbye to your engine. Its a great idea and I aplaud you on your innovation. I would do it but I like the look of the c/f renntech box better, lol. Keep us posted on dyno numbers!

Great job. I can't really see water being a major issue with this setup unless the filters are palce under the fender well or somwhere beneath behind the front bumber. As for fan wash,I feel very minimal especially at highway speeds. This is a good setup and you should experience some nice HP there. Finally if heat is a major concern ,just thermal wrap those nice shiny intake pipes! heat shields won't hurt either.

I made it cause I found the stock setup boring, so the supercharger had no influence on the build.

1. I use a filter from a supllier close to me, PM me and I can get you some

2. The Gen 2 , is quite impressive thus far, not 100% done yet, but big thanks goes out to the guys at HPS.

I can see those issues present on natural aspirated engines, but the filters are actually placed directly in front of the 2 cold air inlet ports from the stock setup and away from the headers. The air also gets compressed through supercharger and passes through a liquid intercooler on my setup, plus im installing direct port meth injection now, so that will take care of any other issues I have with heat.
