Noise from Trunk

Anyone ever have a noise from the trunk that sounds like a speaker short?

I just had service "A" done at the dealers and while there the alternator and battery were replaced, the alternator was replaced on recall and I beleve the battery needed to be replaced due to defective alternator. Also had gauge cluster replaced under warranty as well.

Anyway, now every so often I hear what sounds like a speaker being shorted maybe a 100HZ hum but quite loud(can be heard over phone) once the car is shut off and restarted the sound goes away for a while.
I will take it back to the dealer but in the mean time I would like to see if this has happened to anyone else?
Could this be fuel pump?
Short in electrical system?

Thanks
Joel

I m not sure about your mysterious humm ... maybe spermwhales in love?

But recently I also had to have my battery and alternator replaced. What's the story about this recall? Fortunately enough I bought the car used from an MB dealer last January so the alternator was fixed under warranty.

The battery was on my dime, and what was most irritating was the car broke down with the bad alternateur the very day after the stealership replaced the battery and charged me a half hour of shop time for checking the alternator It made for a bit of drama on the highway as electrical system after system started to fail, finally reaching limp home mode and the brake pedal in an ABS epileptic fit. I barely managed to pull off the road.

Now I wonder if the battery even needed replacing ....

These are great cars, but I miss having real gauges to tell me what is happening with the electrical system. What do you mean you had the gauge cluster replaced? What gauge(s)? The usual outside temp and clock pixel problem?

Sperm Whales!!! so you are saying the car is tring to give me nature sounds to relax?

The recall I found here on the site in a search I believe it started a while ago and I was kind of supprised that it wasn't done already.

I can relate to the notion of having real gauges, it would be nice to have a stripped down raw car but I can live with progress. And I agree this is a great car just looking for some insites if any are to be had.

I thought the Trunk Monkey was only and option for GM products.
So if I had this would it be feed your trunk monkey soon sound?

for those that have not seen trunk monkeys

http://www.trunkmonkey.com/content/category/4/68/51/

Over the weekend I was able to get the noist to be consistant and it is comming from the bottom of the car. either the fuel filter is loose or the fuel pump is bad. the noise is obviously being amplified by the trunk.

Thanks
Joel

I used to have a Subaru WRX track car with very stiff coil overs on it.
WOW talk about trunk monkey problems.
