Hi MDN and welcome! ! !
Why do you want to put an AMG badge? If you get into a race from light to light vs a Camaro SS or Z28 you are going to get you a$$ kicked and the other guy is going to think his car is better than an AMG MB, this causes a bad image for AMG. You do what ever you want, they do look cool on a MB car, after all is your call, I was just curious.
performance prods. sell it for $79 bucks.

But if he leaves the 430 badge on the back too that would be ok. Maybe he just has some AMG mods.

Sans badges rules...

Save your money and buy a CLK55. Then pull the badges and play sleeper with Mustangs, Cameros, and B-trash! That is -- priceless!

I would offer you the badges off my CLK55 but the next owner will probably want them. Too bad more people are not as twisted as I am... As for why I am already thinking about parting with my present ride, the wife wants another E-type and who am I to argue with that, with the E55 Kompressor about to be released!

So let me get this straight.......any year(1990-up) Mustang GT, and also any year (1990-up)Camaro Z28 can beat the 430? REALLY! I don't like to compare a half price car to the CLK, but it bothers me when somebody said we can't beat them. Cause last month I raced a 2001 SVT mustang twice and beat it by about 48 inches from the hood. In another words the mustang nose was align to my side mirror at the quarter mile end mark. The only thing I have done to my car is an addition of K&N filters.

You stand a much better chance vs a Rustang cause they are not that fast, specially a GT, except for the new Cobra.
vs a Z28 i don't think you stand a chance, they will eat you alive, specially if they have any kind of mods, but even a stock z28, they have around 300 hp and they are also lighter than a CLK

What times does your 430 run on the quarter mile? a stock camaro runs about 13.6 to 13.8 I think.

Pocholin, The new Mustangs will eat an E55, Clk55 easy. 0-60 4.5!! I know of one in our town. 390 HP Super Charged.. He said he out ran a Z06, but I bet it was a 385 HP 2001 not a 405HP.

Yes a well modified Mustang or Camero will take a stock CLK55...

I will be the first to conceed that. But whether one could stand to drive those cars on a day to day basis is another matter.

On a track I would probably take a Rousch (sp?) Mustang, at least out of what I could afford, but around town I need something at least nominally civilized. I probably will not own another performance car without ESP anyway, and Ford and GM (excepting the Vette) do not have it yet. ESP gets in the way ocasionally, but I cannot count the number of times it has saved my butt.

Look at my kill story about a modified camaro SS vs E55, I won ! ! ! Also you are talking about the newest Rustang, yes, the newest Rustnag can beat an E55, but most Rustangs out there can't !!!

Same thing for a Z06 Vette, look at my C5Vette killL, I've killed two of the new C5'S (not Z06). I know who I can go against

My race was not on a track, it was a friendly race between these guys and I. We had our race in a highway. No cars was around and we marked from point A to point B where the quarter mile end. First race they couldn't my believe the 430 beat them by 48" inches. To redeam them-self we raced again. This time I won by a nose. I must have to admit, from the start there car has some POWER! But the 430 really stretch its legs from the mid-point of the quarter mile.
