Exhaust fitment question

Does anyone know if a 2005 clk55 exhaust will be compatible with a clk500? I know the bumper will have to be trimmed but other than that will there be any issues? Thanks in advance. Jon

Just to let you know
Will cost you about 2100 just for the muffler parts and necessary hangers.
The new spare tire well is about 300 and the heatshield will cost you another 300. So the total parts cost will be around 2700 without the sales tax.
The there is a labor for replacing the spare tire well and cutting out the bumper(very very important job) and taking down the old muffler and putting a new one. Expect a full day job to get it done right. You will finish this conversion with around 4000 USD. Oh.. I also got a new spare tire for the new spare tire well. That another extra $$. I think you should go ahead and start buying parts first. I know mine will look good.

I saw a CLK exhaust on sale@ebay about a month ago!?

but its not the quad exhaust.

but the quad exhaust would look pretty sick with the CLK500, check the W203 AMG forums, I think a recent member just did a custom exhaust on his C55, so he might have the exhaust for sale.

C55 tips are smaller and it would look awkward on CLK500.

$4K+ sounds like a lot for an exhaust conversion. Will it reap benefits worth the investment?

It all depends I think. I've had this car for more than 3 years and since I first got it I wanted a quad exhaust system. To me this conversion is worth USD 4000. Cutting the bumper is the easy part actually. If you look at the underside of the rear bumper, you can see/feel the guidline of the cutout for the right side of muffler. anyways, my parts all arrive from Germany tomorrow.
