Quad is on.

a true quad system retrofit will need a lot of work for 03 04 CLK55s.
It already took 2 days for them to come this far. It is stunning when you
look at it in person. I love it. The best cosmetic mod I have ever done.

Wow, looks GREAT! Did you have to cut out the spare tire well? Are you running 2 whole mufflers or did just run a pipe from the muffler over to the tips on the other side?

Thank you for complements. This is a complete retrofit work of OEM Quad CLK55 exhaust system. The driverside heat shield was not the correct part even though we ordered the parts using a VIN number. Spare tire well is replaced with a brand new one. The bumper is rolled to an identical shape of the left side instead of cutting, therefore it looks like a stock 05 bumper. I can't wait until I add a new roof spoiler and the CF carbon shift paddles.

PLease...how much does it cost for a complete work of the retrofit quad exhaust system? I would love to do it someday.

As I mentioned, I paied over USD 3000(Converted to USD from Korean Won) just for parts. Remember that euro is still strong and the conversion rate is about 1:1.32 so the price would be higher for US owners. I didn't buy parts using USD so my cost was relatively cheaper. It took about a week for me to get all the parts that were important all the muffler parts and hangers and bolts and nuts. then I had to figure out the spare tire well and I did so I placed the order for the well and the heat shield. so I thought this would be a bolt on kit.

But apparently that was my biggest mistake. The position of muffler hangers were not the same so the mechanics dropeed the rear bumper and located a spot on the rear section to mount hangers and then weld them securely. The welding job was the best I have ever seen. It looked like an original AMG spot welding. I will post picture on this later. The spare tire well has to be siliconed and we placed a dead heavy battery on top for a day until the well is well sitted in the location. What we decided to do with the driver side heat shield is that instead of ordering a new one, the mechanics will bend and twist it to make it fit. The need to reattach the bumper, make a final adjust ment on the muffler position and assemble the internal truck parts.

I am expecting about 20+hours of labor or more since the bumper cutting and rolling required 6 hours of precision work.

Well I think on friday it will be out with all the goodies I ordered for this car.
Will post many pictures then.

Now that we know how much this conversion actually cost for CLK55, the evosport's custom fabrication job, which was priced at around 3500~4000 was not a bad deal at all. No hassle just cut the bumper and put the kit on and the person is good to go.

By the way the 05 clk pipes are not heavy at all. For those who said the new ones 30 pounds heavier, you are wrong. It is very very light even though it has a big center resonator, which I don't plan on deleting because I want a more calm exhaust note.

Here are the pictures

Does the car look better now? There have been som people who were against this mode for adding more weight. actually this one is lighter and the car accelerates better than before. The noise is a bit toned down. I also added the roof spoiler yesterday.

Does anyone know???

I have heard that because of the convertible top on the CLK Cabriolet you can not have quad exhaust. I saw a picture once of one that had it. Don't know if it was a truly functioning system or cosmetic, but would be interested to know if I could get it on my car.

Love the look of the quad exhaust.

This is weird, I have a CLk 55 AMG 2005, and it came with Quad exhaust, authentic OEM AMG, out of the factory. But the 06 55, and the 07 63 don't have quad, neither did the older models. Why does my model have it and no one else? Look below:

Jae's car is an 03 so it was pre quad exhaust.... And as for the new 55's they should have quad unless it was a cabriolet. I think the CLK63 are only cabs in the US. Therefore only dual exhaust....
