Those are exactly the wheels I wanted to get for my car. Any other pictures?
I would probably get 18s though, do you know if they made them in that size? (Staggered) Looks great! |

No other pictures at this time. It was a crapy day and I just wanted a few for now but will post later when the weather gets better. I believe they do make them in an 18". You can run a search through Google for Moven C16 and gets several websites back that sell the rims. Good luck on your purchase- you will really like these rims.
As for 18" vs. 19", I also wanted 18" but now that they are on the car I wouldn't go lower. The tires from Tire rack were on $214 each for the fronts and $196 for the rear (rears on sale right now). Allan

I use H&R springs with #2 pad in the front and #1 in the rear. It is a good drop. Less than half a finger gap in the front (which could be considered on the verge of too much drop) and about half a finger in the rear. There was some rubbing on each side of the front. I had to heat up some of the plastic and push it back and alittle metal on the other side. After I did that there is really no rubbing on very tight turns. I really like the rims and tires.

Symantics could play an issue in your question but let me take a stab- the rims are 8.5 front (ET 32) and 9.5 rear (ET 35). The tires are Eagle F1 DS-D3. If you need the actual width of the tire itself, let me know but I assume this is not what you were asking.

Cool! That's exactly what I need, the wheel widths.
I might go with the exact same setup. Including the Goodyear tires. I have them in the stock size (17"). I wonder if the tires would rub with the stock suspension setup? Would I be better off with 225/35/19s up front? Thanks Last edited by Holson; 05-03-2007 at 11:36 AM. |

The tires (235/35/19) and 265/30/19) did rub some in the front. I had the tire shop put the car on the lift and we removed the two front tires. I used a heat gun on the plastic to mold it and an impact gun on the metal. It didn't take to much time but it did resolve the rubbing issues. There was no rubbing in the rear. The tires are excellent! The 265s were cheaper than the 235 since they were on sale at Tirerack. Good luck.
Are you not selling your car now? Also, I used to live in Epping NH- where the New England Drage strip is. Hit it several times with my modified Eagle Talon. Loved that car. Have you take your car up there yet?

Putting Fake Carlssons on a AMG is a sin... IMO of course. It does look good, but come on, you got the AMG model for a reason. Get with the program man.

ashutt,
If someone comes to me with $28k in cash then yeah, i'll sell it. Otherwise, I'm just gonna keep it. I've never taken the car to the drag strips. This summer I will though. I'll probably pull off a 15 second run the first time out ![]() Blue Monster, I hear ya'. But, I had my old Porsche stolen so I'm a little paranoid of getting expensive wheels for the CLK55. Maybe thiefs don't care about Carlsson wheels?

I would bet your issue of rubbing has to do with the offset being 34 instead of 30 in conjunction with the fact that the goodyears are a wider tire than most in the same size

I believe the stock 17" AMG Monoblock rim in the front had an ET of 37mm while the back had an ET of 34mm.
The Moven C16 rims I purchased have a 32mm in the front while the back has an ET of 35mm. Thus, the 5mm difference in the front, coupled with the Goodyear F1 tire did produce some rubbing on tight turns. It was easily fixed however so I was overly not concerned.
