How do I de-activate the AC Off?

Probably the first of many stupid questions - bought an 03 CLK55 AMG over the weekend, and am loving it. But, in the middle of a brutal commute this evening I decided to blow some cool air on my face, turned the climate control to "low", and realized that I was only getting warm air. The AC Off / Rest button was lit, but pushing it did nothing (light stayed on). The manual didn't come with the car (it's on order), and the MBUSA.com site's owner's section only has 2004 and newer manuals.

So, can someone give me a quick rundown on how this button is used, and how I can reactivate my AC?

Thanks!

on my 01' clk55, to turn my AC on and off, i use the EC button. when the EC is lit, i believe it is on economy mode, and when it is NOT lit, the AC runs.

i don't know if it's the same on 03's and up, but hopefully this helps

Thanks for the replies - went to the dealership this morning (Barrier Mercedes in Bellevue, WA) and that's what they told me - if the light stays on there's a problem with the AC. So, they are fixing that, some problems with the exterior door handle chrome, and replacing a missing lumbar button all under warranty.

I have to say, I had a really good experience with their service department; when I was researching the AC issue I got a bunch of "I hate Mercedes" types of links but they were very good.

What I was also really hoping for was some sort of unit that I could plug into the stereo that would handle bluetooth phone, satellite radio, and MP3 player input, but to add all of this with official Mercedes upgrades would have been hideously expensive so I'll be exploring other options. (recommendations welcome - I'm really hoping for a single unit that I can install between the radio and dash in that little cargo box)
