Power steering reservoir leaking/overflowing

So I had my 03 CLK55 at the road course the other day and noticed that PS fluid was overflowing from the reservoir after a few hot laps...has anyone else experienced this? Common issue? Could the res have possibly been overfilled? To remove this ad, register today or login if you already are registered!

Overfilled, overheated, contaminated p.s. fluid with some other fluid, restriction on the reservoir side (such as the reservoir screen clogged)causing pump cavitation and foaming, or front pump seal or seal in between reservoir and pump allowing air to be sucked in and the resultant foaming, and expansion out of the reservoir.
I would replace the reservoir and o-ring, flush the fluid and see if it's ok after that.
Good luck.

There's no foaming when I take the lid off, it just seems like it slowly oozes out of the cap area...I'll replace the cap and see if that helps

Joe, apologies for my feeble attempt at sarcasm...I've been to the drags multiple times and have organized AMG tracks days here in the Southeast.

In fact, the next track day we're putting together will be in Louisiana in late September. Details are over on the AMG Private Lounge. Sign up there too if you haven't already.
