make sure and post that on the M5 M6 board. Not really fair comparing the black series to a stock M6?

No way?!

It's great to see AMG churning out such focused machines. It seems every new relaease offers more of a drivers car if you look at the C32-to-C55 handling improvment and the E55-to-E63 handling/braking upgrades.

However, I personally would not pay $135 for a CLK so with cost taken into account the M6 would be my choice.

The video was staged and Edmunds paid off. There is no way that any car with a 3-pointed star could beat a car shorn with a propellor on its grille and an M on its rump. We *own* the twisties.

I was suprised at how badly theM6 looked on the twisties, the MPH diff is rather large, perhaps Edmunds was paid off, LOL

I am good buddies with an "Edmunds" insider. The guy is an AMG fan for sure!

There is nothing surprising about CLK63 BS outhandling M6. CLK63 BS is using Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, which are R-compound track tires, fully adjustable suspension that is also much stiffer than M6's, and bigger brakes than M6. CLK63 Black Series is designed for hard track use, it doesn't even have a back seat. If BMW ever makes a M6 CSL, that would be a much better comparison.

.......you are probably joking, but in case you are not I wanted to say that the results of the test are not suprising. A better comparison would have been between the M6 and a regular CLK63 coupe. I don't think that AMg will produce a car specifically for track use and have the car be beating in the twisties by a regular M6. Another fair comparison would be between the M3 CSL and the CLK63 black series.

Don't worry, I was.

I actually used to own a CSL and the thing was a dream to drive (in the dry) but the brakes were found wanting on more than one occasion, none more so than when the car was finally written of at the track. A sad day but as it was barely my fault the other guy had his insurance take car of things.
