damn bro' you have seriously been hitting the weights.

debadging can be cool if you are building a sleeper. i have a vw gti 1.8t that i debadged because it has been completely changed from a stock gti. people know it is a vw and they know it is a golf/gti but they dont know if i am VR6, 1.8t, or even a 4cly until they hear the car. anyway just something to do to make your car a little different from everyone elses.

My friend and I were talking about how funny it would be if we went around with a video camera to people who we know had fake AMG cars. We would go up to them and be like wow nice car...what's AMG stand for? I'm sure we would get some really interesting answers. But the worst AMG badged car I've seen was a civic Si hatch, the 2002-2005 style I think. It had Mugen Power on one side and /////AMG on the other. I had to pull over I was laughing so hard.

It comes down to this:
The boys that pay the big money DESERVE to have that badge on their cars.

The people who are mis-labeling their cars are envious of the cars we drive.
I hate that s*it as much as the next guy.
Not to say the removal of your numbers only, isn't a "sleeper" move. I like that.
The people who mislabel their cars are herbs. Plain and simple.
Debadge your CLK to read CLK instead of CLK55, .........ok - I get that.
Mislabel your CLK to read CLK67 - your a TOOL.

You want a more expensive car......... get a better job or get born into a wealthier family.

i think you called it nj500. the re-badge is the weakest of all poser moves. pony up the cash or live with the fact that you got the base model.

Posers are everywhere. One of the funniest I've seen is a 2007 S class - guy had beautiful rims and 20" wheels, but had "S20" on the left rear and the AMG logo on the right. So you took out the 5.4 liter engine and put in a 2.0l?

Yeah I wondered about that. Some of the people are so confident that it is some form of AMG. I really want to say either you are lying to me and the world or the dealer lied to you. In which case you need to go back and complain.

Yeah I always see the same red c280 with the "AMG"badge where I work. The real funny thing is there is no AMG body parts. Also when I was at the MB shop there was a SL65 AMG with a V8 motor! I know the real one has a V12. But he had all the AMG badges at least

A C-class with a CL-type grill is kinda posing isn't it? I have Eisenmann exhaust, Renntech LM, and Kleeman diff, do they make a badge to describe my ******* CL since it is no longer original? Oh, I also have 20 inch wheels...I can now officially qualify to put DUB on the car.

haha no one seen this!!!!1

i feels ya

I work valet for extra cash to finish my REAL CLK 55 and I drove this brand new CL 550. I walked around back to find CL 63 with the ///AMG on the other side. It seriously pissed me off that we spend the money to have the performance and everything else that comes with the amg models and then this old hag just bought the badges. It had no bumper vents or exhaust. It really looked pathetic...

This post actually makes me a lot less angry than the idiots who put an AMG badge on a CLK430. That SRT6 actually has more AMG parts on it and more in common with the SLK32 than most of the non-AMG benzes that posers throw an AMG badge on. Now THERE is some irony.

How do you guys get through the day with so much important stuff to worry about...! Have you ever heard the saying " Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" ..? Maybe you should consider being flattered that "posers" are imitating your cars by putting AMG badges on their non-AMG cars... Just a thought...

I think I smell the argument of a poser. Post pics of your "real" AMG badge for us.

Gents, I think I saw a poser last night and need your confirmation.

Badging on the back: CLK430 on the left AMG on the right.
Single exaust on the left
AMG wheels
AMG body kit
solid metal rotors front and rear - no AMG calipers
V8-Kompressor badges on the side

I was really tempted to act all enthusiatic and wait till he came out of the chinese fast food place and ask to see the engine.
