I really want one and that's within my price range but the only thing holding me back is upkeep. An '02 is just about 6 years old at this point and probably out of warranty. If you can't afford maintenance you can't afford the car sadly.

Not sure if you have transacted- but I am also in Stamford... My vehicle is a 2001 but only has 13,400 miles. I don't get to drive it as I work in Manhattan. Let me know if you have any interest. I was told I could extend my warrantee for just under 2k. Best!

Phew ... Gullwing007 almost had me beat as Lowest Mileage W208 55 ... dodged the bullet by 3,500 miles

Anyway, jmoney6 ... do you have a daily Beater? I echo hellcat, you'd really need the Extended Warrantee and even then that only buys you a few years' time ... I'm almost dreading the end of my EW period but I have a daily beater so my Beast gets babied and maintenance costs are close to zero.

Laughing. That is excellent. It has always been my Sunday driver... Had many w208's- and others since- but this design is so clean and stout.

Amen, preach on brotha Gullwing007! My "Sunday driver" as well ... my daily Beater's an old '89 300E, still going strong at nearly 190,000 miles! Runs like John Cameron Swayze's Timex® (though I admit I am casting a covetous glance on the Brabus modded Smart ForTwo if they make it over here next year)

Anyway, at the risk of repeating myself, if you aren't made of money (like-a moi), a W208 55 is a great second car ... as a daily however you might need deep pockets ... just my $0.02.

You can buy any car, not drive it and the maintenance costs would be close to zero!

I drive mine around 10-12k miles a year and it's been fine. Parts are a little more to replace like brakes and tires. Oil changes are a little more too b/c it takes more oil than the average car and it's synthetic. Definitely get an extended warranty for anything German. Mine's been almost as good as the factory warranty.
