My clk 55 amg overheating to 100 degrees

Hi everyone, I have a clk 55 amg,

the car starts normally rides normally, and everythign is fine , theres no warning signs on the dashboard or anything but my temperature guage on my dashboard is at 100 degrees all the time, is that normal for a 55 amg, I have a 2003 clk 55 amg and if thats not normal what could be the problems,

Im abit worried as I dont want to be burning out anything, please advise,

Mine always runs just a hair over the 80 mark. That doesn't sound normal.

My 2003 CLK55 runs between 80 and 100 all of the time, I don't get any lights or issues with it running in that range and I assumed it was the normal operating temp for the car. I did change the coolant and the oil the first week I had it so I could have a start point for my maintenance schedule.

There is another post on this where one person mentioned that the thermostat is set for 87 deg. C and that in traffic and hot weather 100 C is not unusual. See the thread here CLK55 running hot

it 95 in the summer, a bit over 80 in the cold weather.

clk 55 amg

I aksed another guy form thsi firum who ahd the same issues, he said he took it to the dealer and they said it was fine and its pretty normal for amg engines to run hotter,

I guess its fine, to be hoesnt I dont have any problems just that it says 100 degrees.

i am at 4500 ft above sea level and i always run right at 80 degrees, summer or winter it doesnt matter.
