C/S mode transmission vibration ??

Hello all,

well I bought this car less than 6 weeks ago and I just love it more and more everyday. I was driving using the C mode most of the time and the car just runs smooth, couple days ago i switched it to the S (sport or standard) mode and now i can feel a little vibration on the steering wheel at certain speeds (30 mph) and at 60 to 70 mph, I thought maybe the tires need to be balanced but when i switched it back to the C mode the vibration disappeared !!! so is this normal with 04 CLK55 AMG or should I look for something here to fix??? thanks in advance for your help.

Sorry to hear about this issue. I have a 2004 CLK55 Cabriolet. I switch between the S/C mode every once in a while but keep it mostly in S just in case. I have not noticed any vibration issues; I wish I could be of more help. I would take your car to a stealership for the diagnosis and then to a reputable Mercedes specialist for the repair.

I am puzzled as the S/C button should only effect how long the transmisson holds the gear, throttle response and shifting points (relative to throttle position). I don't see how this would directly affect anything mechanical (i.e driveshaft) to cause the vibration. There are guys on the board who seem to have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering who could shed more light....
