Has anyone put the (prev-gen) E55 18" wheels on their CLK55? If so, questions:

1) any rubbing issues?

2) any noticeable degredation in ride quality?

3) any noticeable increase in road noise?

4) where did you get the rims, and how much did they set you back?

I'm thinking of upsizing, mainly because I'm sick of not being able to get this thing off the line quickly without the rear tires going up in smoke...however, I don't get off the line quickly all *that* often, and so I'll probably keep the
stock rims if there's a large noise/ride penalty to be paid...thanks in advance!!

I have them on my 2002 CLK55 and love them . Got them from tirerack.

I went with 225/40/18 front 265/35/18 rear Front tires 25.3 tall. Rear tires 25.3 tall. I here some people are using 235/40/18 on the front. These tires are 25.4 tall but .6 wider over the 225's , or a little over a half inch wider. Oh by the way these are Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Hope this helps.
