OEM NAV DVD's

I have a CLK 2005 with the 2004.1 DVD navigation and want to uptade
the maps.

I read that the 2006.2 is the best because the 2007.1 have certain
route problems...

Do I have to upgrade the nav sofware before buying the 2006.2 DVD?

Can't find the DVD for CLK 2005+

can you guys help me out?

NAV software is automatically updated with each release. You can only purchase the DVD's from your dealer unless someone makes you a copy of theirs.

The flash for 2006.2 and the routing problem with 2007.1 affected S and CL-class COMANDs. The CLK uses a different COMAND and different DVDs. The latest DVD for the Alpine unit you have was released in Jun 2007 and is called v5.0. You can get it from any dealer or www.navteq.com.

While it won't have any routine problems, it is probably going to be obsoleted shortly since DVDs are released roughly yearly. You might want to wait a bit. But if you're about to take a road trip, for instance, and want the latest you can get, this 2007 is it and shouldn't give you any problems.

Wow great info in 2 replys! thanks

But I can't find any V.5 DVD online (ebay) don't want to put 200$
on a DVD.

There are some 2007.1 for CLK's for about 60$ on ebay, will they work?
Will there be the "ETA" option on the new DVD's?

Update:

Soo I bought the 2007.1 DVD for 2005 to 2008 CLKs on Ebay for 70$
and insert it in my DVD Nav slot.

The Nav installed the new updates, software and maps!

Everything works good and all the new roads near my area
appread

NB: the ETA did not show anywhere doh. until I disconnected the
batterie (for another job) and BAM the ETA was there.
I don't see what disconnecting the batterie does to the Nav but
it works good now

Great and easy upgrade for COMAND Nav
