Check Engine Light is back!

Well, today I bought a OBD ll Reader for $140 bucks due to the CEL on my car. I connected the reader and received error code P0456 EVAP EMISSION SMAL LEAK. Does anyone know what this code means?

my guess is a loose/faulty gas cap or cracked or otherwise leaking hoses in the fuel line, maybe around the carbon canister or fuel filter.

One-hundred and forty dollars for an OBDII scanner? The value of the dollar has really fallen through the floor. A few years ago I paid $50 for my scanner. Manuals Unlimited has the same model I got for $80 (a 60% increase). Alternatively, a serial cable based digimoto is only $170. The USB version is only $200.

Guitarist you were absolutely correct! After removing the gas cap I heard a hissing sound as if I just deflated a balloon

I then placed the cap back on and connected the OBDll reader and it passed! I drove the car to work this morning to make sure it doesn't come back and so far so good! I think that's all it was.....and just to think, a Mercedes-Benz shop near my home wanted to charge me $100 bucks for a diagnostic test and $275 to replace 2 O2 sensors (If this was the issue and that's for the labor only)

The $140 bucks I paid for the OBD reader is a bit much but It is well worth the investment. Thanks guy's for your input.
