Check Engine Light is back!

Well, today I bought a OBD ll Reader for $140 bucks due to the CEL on my car. I connected the reader and received error code P0456 EVAP EMISSION SMAL LEAK. Does anyone know what this code means? To remove this ad, register today or login if you already are registered!

my guess is a loose/faulty gas cap or cracked or otherwise leaking hoses in the fuel line, maybe around the carbon canister or fuel filter.

One-hundred and forty dollars for an OBDII scanner? The value of the dollar has really fallen through the floor. A few years ago I paid $50 for my scanner. Manuals Unlimited has the same model I got for $80 (a 60% increase). Alternatively, a serial cable based digimoto is only $170. The USB version is only $200.

Guitarist you were absolutely correct! After removing the gas cap I heard a hissing sound as if I just deflated a balloon I then placed the cap back on and connected the OBDll reader and it passed! I drove the car to work this morning to make sure it doesn't come back and so far so good! I think that's all it was.....and just to think, a Mercedes-Benz shop near my home wanted to charge me $100 bucks for a diagnostic test and $275 to replace 2 O2 sensors (If this was the issue and that's for the labor only) The $140 bucks I paid for the OBD reader is a bit much but It is well worth the investment. Thanks guy's for your input.
