Felt seems to be the best way, and also has been recommended to me, but never got around to it.

I haven't had this issue in my car but I did fix the problem in my sisters Acura. I used a spray lubricant which contained wax. It doesn't attract dust and when it dries the wax-like film kept it quiet. Picked it up at Lowes or Home depot.
