CLK AMG 55 Test Drive

I had an opportunity to drive the rocket today. Wow it seemed fast to me! I have an '01 430 as a basis of comparison. The exhaust sound was wonderful also. Body was tight & quiet. The instrument cluster was quite visually appealing too.

While not a great fan of the new body style I did find it appealing and it will probably grow on me over time.

Dealer in Long Beach, CA was asking $10k over sticker.

Don't think you can fairly compare your 01 430 to this since this has the AMG engine in it that produces 367hp while your 430 is only 302hp. As far as that dealer markup of $10k that's so far the cheapest markup i've heard. One at my local dealer is asking $25k over.

So you gonna buy it?

Is the new one even out? I didn't know...

If it's the older CLK55.. there shouldn't be any markups.

Yes the new 209 55 is out now and some dealers have it in stock.

why get the new 55 when you can get a great deal on the old body style. Its nicer looking, faster, and a shape that someday will be a classic.

Yes i agree. And the 209 55's aren't even a bargain right now too.
