xenon failure with a crackling noise

hi guys

Just wanted to ask if anyone can advise me on a problem I have, When I turned on my xenon lights tonight, it was flicking on and off rapidly and then eventually it went off- the alert came up on my dashboard saying dipped beam left fault.

My lights are xenon, I was jsut wondering if anyone else would get this crackling sound with the lights.

Had the same issue with my 05 clk 320.
ordered the ignitor and Bulb.
Still have them both here,never got around to install it because i ended up returning the car(lease ended)
Let me know if you want them,you can have both for 50$
