265 or 275 Rear Tires for W208 AMG?

My 2001 CLK55 2001 is lowered with H&R springs. I currently have a one finger gap between the fender and tire on my 265/30/19s. I am replacing the rears and can go again with the Goodyear Eagle (F1 GS-D3) 265/30/19s for $293 each or I can purchase the 275/40ZR19 which are $250.00 each. The two issues are (1) will the 275s rub and (2) the fronts are 235/35/19- so the rears would be a higher profile than the front while currently they are lower. Will these work? The two concerns I would have are:

1. Uneven wear...do you have camber issues?

2. How far off on diameter variation will you be? IIRC, if you stay within 5 percent you should be fine. Otherwise, you may have an ESP issue.

FWIW, I drove a blown W208 yesterday that is running 275s in back (on stock wheels). Even with a Quaife, that beast has major traction issues.

I run 275x30x19 in the rear with H&R and #1 spring pads in the rear and have no rubbing issues.

According to Luke at tire Rakc, the 275/40-19 would be way too tall for the car with it's 27.7" overall diameter. The 265/30-19 is 25.2" tall.

Hey ashutt, what exactly is this: Auto Meter Digital Pro Shift System (Level 2)
Are we talking about a SHIFT KIT here? Valve body upgrade???
How does it work with the w208? May I please see some pics of the setup?
As much info on this as possible would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Auto Meter Digital Pro Shift System (Level 2) is a shift light system. You can program in two modes. The first is when you are power-braking off the light tree or stop light. In this mode the system will display the color you want when the target RPM is achieved and the brake is being applied. Second, the system will then display any color you want at any RPM level. What that means is that you can set the RMP for each gear for optimal shifting points. Since our cars hit the Red-line so quickly this helps in setting the shift point before red-line. It works very well.

i have 19's lowered (kleemann springs and #1 pads) w/ appx 30 mm offset in the rear. with 275's it would rub sometimes on bumps on the PLASTIC inside...no metal rubbing. With more than 2 passengers, rubbing would happen more often on bumps. def not a big issue tho
