2005 CLK55 AMG WITH SL55 BRAKES?

Just bought a 2005 clk55 in rare Orion Blue and I'm going to keep this one! I rolled my SL55 and before they hall it away(have a week)I wanted to know if the larger brakes, f&r would fit? I haven't checked yet on the wheels but I'm hoping my stock 18" multi spokes will fit at least. Any help on this matter would greatly be appreciated! I was also wondering about the airbox. Is it like the E55, could I make it work? Insurance company ripped me on my cars value so I'm trying to get the most of it. To remove this ad, register today or login if you already are registered!

Thanks a bunch guys! What about drop in filter panel replacements? Any recommend brands besides k&n? On the airbox, is there any customizing or is it a bolt up install?

go green!!!!
as for the air box just remove the entire unit from the SL including the "Y" splitter and install it onto the CLK. there are just clips so it should not be difficult

you'd have to pull the spindles to have them work- different bolt pattern etc.

Bolt pattern is the same for the wheels. Do you mean the bolts and nuts configuration mechanically?

I see, thanks for the heads up. So it can be done and you're saying I would have to switch the complete spindle? Is that possible? I'm assuming you have done this or read of this swap. Thanks again for the info.

As for the brake conversion. i am currently fitting CL55K brakes to my CLK. I do not have CL55 spindles and do not know whether they will fit while maintaining the correct dimensions.
The CL/ SL brake rotors are larger in diameter and thickness also having a different offset.
I am having custom rotors and adapter blocks for the CL calipers made to suit the CLK.
