Most here will say the BS. It's certainly a good car. Minus points are its weight but people that have them here say this does not really affect the handling

997TT will be quicker from a stop and have better brakes but it is not quite as focused as the BS as regards a car you want to track

My 996 GT3 drove like hell on the LA-region roads but the new PASM (i think that's the name) transforms the ride over bad roads for both the 997 GT3 and 997TT. BS is supposed to ride well too, but the guys here will be able to tell you more.

It's a tough decision. 997TT will get more attention from Joe Public but car afficionados will head to the rarer BS.

I notice from your signature that you drive a King Ranch Edition. Glad to know I'm not alone!

I had a 997TT and is was fine for me while I had it. After getting the GT3RS it felt like a fat old mans road boat. Plenty of thrust and a slight slight tick faster than my SL55K2, but I just felt that something was missing. Less than a year after getting it I traded it for a minimally appointed 997C2S. The 997C2S is such a joy to drive that I even sometimes prefer driving it to my GT3RS, unless of course I am at autocross

The problem with the AMG's is the rear wheel drive. The 4wheel drive in the 997 tt is awsome. I, however, also love the looks of the BS, but the 997tt is a beuty too. This is a really hard desicion. If you have to drive in the snow, go for the 997tt, otherwise it goes down to which car you like.I wouldnt be so sure about which car pulls more attention.

Tough competition as I adore both cars. The precision, accuracy and the porsche feel of the 997 TT, in addition to it's massive thrust, besides being the prettiest porsche the company ever designed (and I have a feeling it's about to go down slope in this area) sort of compensate for the 4 wheel drive, which I consider a downside. I know sounds crazy but it's a matter of preference. Against the rear wheel drive and the muscular loud shouty V8 wraped in one of AMG's - again - prettiest packages.

If I were you and didn't mind or preferred 4WD - or AWD, or whatever the call it - after ALO-HOOOOT of thinking I'd pick the 997 ... other wise I'd grow old and die before I had made any decisions

the decision is still a tough one .... pricing is not really an issue as both cars can be had for almost the same amount of cash ....

which is the best porsche forum so I can post the same question there and see if they like the BS more

I really like the BS but that 997 is really calling out my name

i have always had a soft spot for turbo porshes. the 997 is probably one of the most alluring with the exception of the 993 turbo. the BS is amazing but it is a big car and regardless of the grunt you feel it. At least i feel it in my 55 and they are essential the same size. the porshe has a shorter wheel base and the cockpit is going to feel tighter. i bet you the BS does everything well. the Porsche just seems like it is more of a purpose built canyon carver.

The BS is going to be more fun driving than the 997tt. Just about every BS owner have/had turbos and they will echo my words. As far as attention, I work in Newporsche Beach so a turbo doesn't turn any heads but the BS sure does. Sounds like you've already made up your mind for the porsche. FWIW, it seems that the guys that buy the BS know exactly what they want. Those that aren't sure, don't. I think you've made the right choice.

The Mercedes is going to be a less expensive route, if you can deal with slightly used.

Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong here. The Turbo might handle a little better w/ the awd system. The black series has the growl of a race car though! Both have plenty of power and are decorated very nicely. Both are also easy on the eyes!

I've been having that same problem too. I cannot decide which car I would buy, when I'm ready later this spring. I love the 911 TT and the BS. I'm torn as well and hopefully I'll end up deciding in a few months.

Had a Stage II 997TT prior to the BS. Absolutely loved the car!! Put 16k miles on it in a year. It truly is a DD. The BS is not. BS is a blast to drive but after owning the it since August, I miss my 997TT. The Turbo put the power down no matter what. The BS has a problem putting the power down without breaking traction. Really depends on how ofter you are going to drive the car. If you are getting a weekend warrior and want the raw aspect get the BS. If you want a car that can go anywhere and damn near do anything get the 997TT. Just my .02

The 997tt was a 6 speed. Clutch was real easy to use even with the 600hp the stock held up great.
