LED lighting for CLK

I've tried several type of LED lights to replace the license plate lights to give the super white look of the Lexus vehicles. Although they each claim it will operate "error free", none have so far. The problems I experience are flashing on/off or not lighting at all. Also they are listed an a malfunction on the dash display. I have read about adding a resistor but the information has no consensus as to which kind.

So my question is, does anyone know for sure which LED lights work without errors on a 2005 CLK? I want to change the license plate lights, tail lights, and break lights.

BTW: I installed the unused license plate LEDs in place of the interior and glove compartments lights without error.

I want to change most of the bulbs to LED

which bulb (futur LED) will need a resistor ??
