Saying Hi, just picked up an 01 CLK55

Here she is...

Just picked her up yesterday. I have been looking to buy one of these for quite some time. But never can find a good local one.

Here are a couple pix I took with my phone.

2001 AMG CLK55

Options: The phone kit, and disc changer. Everything else is standard right?

37,000 Miles

Got it for one hell of a deal.
Has afew scratches on the front and rear, they are going to airbrush them for me. Anyone have any experience or advice on airbrushing? Won't be paying for it out of pocket as they through it in the deal.

Not sure how it will look.

Also 3 of wheels have minor curb rash, (gunna see what other MB wheels will fit it)

Only thing it really needs is a passenger side foglight bulb. And service B is re'q.

Anyone get this done? What is all entailed specific for the 55? I was told 550 for the service from my MB dealer.

And do you guys think it would be wise to buy a powertrain warranty for 1200? 3/36k

Finally glad to be a real member and not just a lurker/mercedes owner in chrysler clothing.

COMAND (navigation) was also an option, as was Linguatronic (voice activation).

Most of the '01s didn't get the ski sack, standard on the '02s, nor the inside trunk release.

Congratulations! A very nice, clean looking 55. Are you planning to do any serious mods to it?

In Aust, the Bose sound system, parking sensors, rain sensors and sat nav were options. I don't have any on mine, couldn't really careless about them. One thing I would have liked is the retractable side mirrors, it's mentioned in the owners manual but not sure if that was the US/Euro only option.

All those things were options in Europe, including the power folding side mirrors. Steve at MBenzNL put the mirrors in for me a couple of years ago and they are handy in tight spots like my parking garage. Doing the job right requires swapping in a new lower center console trim panel to accommodate the switch. The same outside shell for the mirror stays in place so no painting is required.

I put the 2002 CLK specs, prices, & equipment here, and the A & B-service is here. If you're going to let the dealer service the car, you may want to ask how big a discount you'll get with MBCA membership. You may find the B-service discount pays for a year or so worth of MBCA dues.

Lastly, congrats!
