02 CLK 320 Coolant questions

I have a 2002 320 CLK and i want to know how to drain the coolant, I opened the rad drain but only about a gallon came out.
Also what is the total quantity of the system and are there block drains that need to be opened, any other things to look out for??
Thanks Stan

Did you remove the filler cap? If not, after about a gallon has drained, the vacuum in the system will prevent any more from draining.

On a V8, there is a block drain on the passenger side. It's good for less than a quart.

Thanks Marcus for your answer.
I drained the system via the radiator drain and the cap was off.
I also jacked the rear of the car up a bit higher than the front and more coolant came out.
I got about 2 gallons out if the system and refilled with MB yellow coolant.
I did notice that the heater would not warm up until the cap was put back on.
I was running the car without the cap to let it warm up and self purge any air out of the system, once the cap was put back on after the top hose was hot then the haeter began to warm up.
Thanks Stan
