Wink Just took delivery of an 04 CLK55!!!!

I ordered a CLK55 in early March ... and took delivery this morning. Ice Blue & Charcoal/Dark Blue interior. BEAUTIFUL, of course! All the [03] goodies 'cept phone and Distronic. (I hope the UHI phone adapter hits the accessories market soon). Also hopeful the satellite radio option appears: the COMMAND is set-up for it, evidently. But you know: the radio/audio isn't anywhere near as bad as the messages here had led me to fear! Reception is no worse than my Lexus. Sound quality is not QUITE as good ... but not too shabby at all. Only "bug" so far appears to be the "after start" stats are identical to "after reset" stats. ????? But I'll worry about that later: my biggest concern right now is trying to stay under the 4500 RPM limit for 1000 miles! That will be the longest 1000 miles I've EVER traveled!

I've been lurking through the forums here on MBWorld (and AMG-Owners-Club) for the last several weeks... THANKS to all of you, I know I'm going to even MORE thoroughly enjoy the new car. Knowing some of what's behind it all will only add to the enjoyment.

I'll post some pics up in the Gallery as soon as I can. If there's anything you want to highlight, let me know. But right now, I've got to go DRIVE!

That thousand miles shouldn't take too long.....4000 RPM is good for 120.

Congratulations from me too.

staggered 17" AMG Style V one-piece, with Pirelli P-zero's. Wanted 18" AMG V but dealer claimed "the car would never be in balance" and recommended against it!!! ??? That's OK - I really like HRE wheels anyhow ... so their loss! You've got to wonder where MB finds some of these MB dealers/salesmen!

My dealer has a pewter CLK55 on the floor with the same wheels and Pirelli tires.

With extras, incl. distronic, sticker reads: $84,00!

Yea - without Distronic and phone (and w/o the 04 options unavailable at time of ordering, i.e. ventilated seats and self-closing trunk) mine came to $81K including tax, license, etc. etc. Out the door. I'm pleased that the dealer did not fiddle with the price: paid MSRP. WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! (so far ....)

Mike,

Congrats on the new car! I just took delivery yesterday of my '04 CLK55 with the exact color combo you have Ice Blue/Char/Dark blue. What a great color!!.

A few questions.
Did your car come with AMG or MB floor mats?
Where they the Blue or the Charcoal?
Have you noticed any discrepancy between the cruise speed vs. the actual digital speedo vs. the analog speedo? All three of mine differ as much as 5 mph.
Is your trans shifting firm or a little "soft"? I was expecting a much firmer shift given the AMG mods.

Keep in touch. We can compare notes. I'm on the east coast as well, just farther north.
