CLK55 or E55

I am in the market for a 1999 to 2002 E55 or CLK55. I am having a tough time deciding which to get. I have on driven the E55 but how does the CLK compare. In terms of performance which is better (from a stop or rolling)? Gas Mileage.....? Please help To remove this ad, register today or login if you already are registered!

CLK 55 coupe is about the same HP but 3-400 lbs lighter. Therefore theoretical performace will be better. I've seen bone stock E55 Vs. CLK55 coupe turn exact same times on the track. The E55 was actually faster in a couple of places on the track. The difference at the end of the day was the front tires and presumably the brakes were destroyed on the E but not that bad on the CLK. As they say YMMV.

Drives: 2002 CLK 55 AMG Coupe ;)
If you don't need the space that the E provides, get the CLK.

It's 300lbs lighter, faster, more economical -- and the CLK looks much sportier.

Lightbulb Buy the CLK55!

As a matter of fact, BUY MINE!!! I've decided I need foud doors and am in the process of offering mine for sale. You can see the general details on my signature but PM me for photo's, price, etc. I LOVE the car and did participate in the Georgia AMG get together so some of the guys on here know me. I'm not in any hurry to sell as I still THROUGHLY enjoy running it every once in a while but with a 2nd child now and now wiling to put a car seat in the rear, it's simply time for me to bite the bullet and move back to the four door flavor.
