How many CLK55 Cabriolets made?

Hi All,
Does anyone know how many W208 body style CLK55 cabriolets were made? I was told 800 by one source and 1400 by another but I was hoping for an idea of the real number. Thanks!

old info - 800 208 CLK55's were produced. Since the CLK55 in the coupe version spanned two year (2001 & 2002) there are around 2600 of those (1200 one year and 1400 the next I believe). So, essentially, the 2001 CLK55 cabrio is a rare beast but you would not be able to tell it from the prices. They are dropping like a rock! I know of guys that were trying to get $62K for them last year and now would be happy if they can squek out $52K. If they keep dropping at this pace, I may be buying one again in the near future.

I just received this response from the AMG Club forum:

"Hi Chappy,

i don’t have the US production, either the world-wide numbers splinted into years.

The “CLK 55 Coupé” {C 208.374} was built 3.381 times between October 1999 and May 2002 and 400 “CLK 55 Cabrio” {A 208.470/M 113.984} has been built."

According to this source, these figures are for worldwide production. Amazingly, just 400 cabrios were built worldwide

Chappy - Thanks for the greetings. Been on some prjects lately with little access to certain websites. The TL's been pretty good. I did have an issue with the memory seats (it had no memory) but they've addressed that. There's a headliner issue on a few of these cars and mine's going to be replaced on monday. The TL now has 10K on it in about 5 months (new job + lots of recreational travel to beaches and mountains). I sosld the '95 accord and the CLK55 at the same time and replaced them both with this one car and it's been a good compromise. Still miss that "kick in the pants" effect of the AMG but will have to settle with this for now. I am thinking of getting a 2-seater conv to play with. Maybe a SLK32 or .....
