Clk Engine Swap Question

Let's say I have a CLK320, and I want to swap the engine with a CLK55 AMG engine..Would I need any types of codes for the ecu, or are there any types of restriction for starting up a swapped engine? To remove this ad, register today or login if you already are registered!

Yep. Cheaper and less headaches to sell your V6 and purchase the 55. But, there's always the supercharger option!

Not sure about your country...

here in HK , each vehicle must be registered and the registration certificate clearly shows the engine chasis number , capacity, body color , car model.
If the information on the registration certificate does not match the car physically, it is illegal.

I could only guess we can swap anything we want e.g. spray a different color except we have to go to the registration office to re-register. Of course, that also means it could be rejected if the modification does not meet the safety requirements.
