The CLK 55 in my family is not my car but I have driven it many times. This car sucks with gas mileage. It burns/chugs gas like we need to breathe air and I am not exagerating.
Whenever I drive the 55 or my ///M (they get about the mileage) I get about 200 miles a tank. I have burned a full tank of fuel in about 100-110 miles before. :v

Holy smoke
What the hell ??? 200 miles for full tank ? that is 12.5 mpg their prediction is 17 mpg isn't that far from their estimation ??? Hmmmm, so 200 is the average for a full tank ??? Need detailed info before I buy 1. Full tank for 55 is 16 gallons right ? the same like the 320 ???
Thanks guys |

are you sure that's the km you are getting ? Cause that is around 375 miles per gallon for highway and 285 miles for city ? That is super fuel efficient.
My 320 only get 275 for city ??? hmmmm |

dual exhaust ?
Guys, rather than posting on another thread I'll ask it here anyway. Is there an option to get a dual exhaust ? Because how come some of them have dual and some not ?

To answer your question, in my expierence, I get about 23 mpg on the freeway MAX. On the street I get about 15mpg. I have a 2001 CLK55 w an AMG supercharger added to it.

I usually get anywhere from 15 to 22 mpg when I drive the beast.
There is a setting when you press the steering wheel buttons that shows you the miles you've driven and the mpg since the beginning. Mine says 20.1mpg. This is a lifetime average of the car I guess? The way I drive I would've figured it to be a lot lower.

I've got a 2001 CLK55 that I drive daily. The phrase 'your results may vary' comes to mind with this question. With this car your mileage is HIGHLY dependent on your city/highway mix and how often you floor the gas pedal and I stress the word highly. I live in Metro DC with a good 50/50ish mix city/highway and the computer averages out to 18-19mpg. As far as driving style, I typically drive 10-20mph over the limit and I visit the redline more often than not. Then on occasion I just cruise with the regular traffic flow. If you spend a lot of time in bumper-to-bumper traffic or just idling, forget it because your mpg will be in the toilet. Out of the smallish tank I get about 275miles. On a recent trip to NYC I got 23-24mpg but I was flying. Personally, I think it's a pretty good compromise for the level of performance that you get.

My car is still breaking in so I have been following the break in procedure. I am getting around 250 miles before the reserve light comes on. Most of my driving is city. I suspect once I get it out of comfort mode and start using the paddle shifters the gas mileage will drop considerably.
Since I just got out of an 04 Viper this type of gas mileage seems awesome, I used to average 10-11 mpg in my Viper. Sad but true

You dont pay a gas guzzler tax for nothin....
If you are looking for a fuel friendly car this is not the one to get. 10-15 bucks a day sounds about right.

One other thing to note regarding MPG...
I keep my PSI pretty up there. 38psi F and 36psi R warning:The ride is a bit on the firm side. That way I minimize the rolling resistance of the tires. Plus, I lowered the car with H&Rs and #2 spring pads so with the high psi I try to minimize the excessive tire wear on the rears because of the -ve camber. Happy
