Evosport CLK63 Black Series Alcantara Headliner

We just finished redoing the headliner (including all the pillars and visors) for a customer car in all Alcantara (the factory headliner is cloth). Thought I'd share some pics. We used a 360-deg blind stitch on the visor so that no seam is visible on the outside. This is really how the car SHOULD have come from the factory! Enjoy...

Looks awsome!!! Had a feeling it was Todd's car since it's currently being worked on.

What's next on the mod list?

Great job...I agree the Alcantara headliner is detail I wish came standard. I did it in the E55. It may not get noticed readily by "civilians" but it is a small detail that most AMG devotees can appreciate.

Looks great! I've been wanting to do this on my car for several months now! I can't quite tell from the pictures, but is that a black or grey alcantara, or even charcoal?

It's black alcantara. May look dark grey depending on light and which direction the fibers are running.

Yes, big clocks are my pet peeve with modern AMGs - and they've done it again with the new E class.

The alcantara work looks great - now go wrap those assist handles in leather!

I like it..................but don't forget to knock the middle clip back in place on the passenger rear pillar cover.

Looks kinda cheap, i would've done something different because you already had to go thru the trouble of taking off the headliner, i think i woyld've done something a little more custom maybe leather instead of suade with matching desighn of the seats

Cheap? Well it's a good thing opinions are free. I'll be sure to keep your leather suggestion in mind Say hello to your friends at HMS for me.

Sorry, but I think it looks horrible. Should have taken all the hand prints out of it at least for the picture.

What a tough crowd...I think you guys need to see it in person to appreciate it...the flash of the camera does wash the color out and makes it look a lot lighter than it really is...It is a much better look than the cheap looking cloth that comes standard in the CLK and E.

It may need more stitching but I think that is a function of the difference in contours of the interior between the CLK and E. I still give props to the work done over at Evosport.

Here is a couple of pics with the headliner with more stitching...which I'm sure it could easily be done @ Evosport. You can also redo the rear deck in alcantara (last pic).

This is a harsh board. This is actually my BS and I just received the BS yesterday and that was the first time I saw the car in person. The pictures do not capture the richness, quality and detail and like others have said, the flash lightens the fabric. It's actually a perfect match, assuming your intent was to match the existing fabric headliner in color. I personally do not think this looks cheap, in fact, just the opposite, IMO, this is how it should have came from the factory. What you don't see in the pictures is Evosports CF (replaces the 5 pieces of aluminum) which really looks great and just completes the interior and helps set off the interior and compliments the Alcantera. It's amazing how close of a perfect match the CF is to the factory.
BTW, love the smell of the Alcatera, I think the car will always have the "new car smell"

+1, my overpriced M6 comes alcantara all over the place including the rear decklid...

If someone posts a pic of their car or their work, what do they expect only positive remarks? Thats why its a forum, nobody was rude or unprofessional (not pointing but just clarifying when mods would step in), it just wasnt everyone's cup of tea.

With that being said, I love alcantara and this is my cup of tea

What was mb/amg thinking? I didnt think to ask if the bs had alcantera in the headliner or not. My e55 had it my sl65 had it so why did they skip the bs? Hell for the cost of the bs the gt3 has it all over the inside.

Nice job on Todd's car Simon.
