To the best of my knowledge there was never a factory BS Cab offered to the public. This is most likely a run of the mill CLK 63 Cab that has been converted. This is the third CLK BS Cab I have seen, VRP did the first conversion over a year ago, there is a thread somewhere in this sub-forum, there is also a mars red example rolling around Miami.

Obviously a POSER. Unless they can document a true AMG build, they should be banned for life.

So if I just like the way the BS looks, but also want a convertible, that would make me a poser?

Of course, I wouldn't badge it as such but if I got the kit on a CLK for cosmetic reasons, it would make me a poser?

Yes!!! Unless you could offer proof that you in fact paid for the car from your own funds - no financing.

What does HOW you pay for a car have anything to do with being a poser ??

Now, if it were a regular CLK and not a BS that some MADE TO LOOK LIKE A BS - that would be posing. If it's already a BS (which the KKS seems to be) that someone just turned into a cab, then thats not posing at all....just a one off aftermarket conversion as far as I'm concerned. And this one seems to be well executed so I give it a

Tongue in cheek. See other posts (Where is JRCart, etc.) for context. It is a very clean conversion.

'Tis the converted that shout the loudest. Remember that AMG started out pulling off stunts like this.

The car has rear seats which leads me to believe it is a regular CLK, not a converted BS.

I have always been curious as to why standard CLKs(inc AMG) have only one twin tipped muffler on the left side of the car while the BS has the traditional quad pipes. Does something structural hinder the exhaust routing and how is it resolved with the BS?

a guy builds the car he wants . that is not posing , that is enjoying yourself . THERE IS NO BLACK SERIES CABRIO so he is not trying to fool or kid anyone .
very strange this forums " poser " obsession .
what difference does it make ?

Hughes, subsequent Clk55's actually had the quads. The initial ones didn't have them however. e.g. 208 and pre 2005 209's.

The car is a clk63 cab with bs body parts attached. see here and scroll down:

That's is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. So a CLK63 (cabrio) with a Black Series bodykit (no badges) is posing? That's kind of ridiculous, it's not like I'd be trying to fool anyone.

Here's one, I been wanting to get a SL Black Series kit on my car-- I'm absolutely in love with the Black Series SL aesthetics -- and debadge the SL, I would then be posing? Even if the price of the SL Black came down, I don't like the fact the roof doesn't come down which is a biggie for me, so for me to have the bodykit plus the drop, I think it would be pretty cool. I don't consider it posing, but hey...

I always thought posing involved sideways hanging exhaust and "E95 AMG" badges on one side and "V12 Bi-Turbo" on the other, not body kits.

The car in question started life as a regular CLK63 Cab. You can clearly see from the pic below that it DOES have a BS badge on the rear; thus, making it a poser.
You can do whatever you want to you SL. But, IMO, posing is trying to make what you have look like something it's not. An SL BS bodykit would fall under that pretense. Do whatever you like....just don't be surprised when some people disagree.

sorry lz i do not agree either . someone has decided to make a bs conv no biggie . it has a badge , so what mate? its not the end of the world there is no bs conv anyway . it reeks more of customization to me a badge does not a poser make ( necessarily ) an attitude does.
now please understand its not my cup of tea but its these differences that make our love of cars so interesting and diverse .

I initially thought this was a BS conversion, too. But it's NOT. It's a CLK63 CAB made to LOOK like a BS convertable. If it didn't have the BS badge I wouldn't mind so much. But, it's clearly attempting to pass as a BS when it's nothing more than a fake.

POSER - defined as:

a person who habitually pretends to be something he is not

Someone who acts like a fake

who tries to fit in but with exaggeration

One who attempts to appear to others as something they are not

Not sure how much more cut and dry that can be.

I think this is a VERY cool car and appears to be very nicely done but; BS badges (or whatever badges) on a car that is not a BS (or whatever car that it's not) like/understand it or not = POSER!

I'd be embarrassed to be seen in it.......

It's a bodykit. I've never known someone to be a poser because of a bodykit alone. I'm trying to be something I'm not-- I like the looks.
