I have the BEST wife in the entire world!

Not only is she a beautiful person on the inside and on the outside, she is a gearhead! One of the first things we discovered we had in common was our love for cars. Over the last 17 years we've experienced a LOT of cars - 60+ to be exact! She has given me many car related gifts including the lift in my garage but on the occasion of my 50th birthday on the 28th of last month she out did herself! I am a lucky guy!

A big box showed up at the door a couple days prior to my birthday and when she came home from work she couldn't wait for me to open it up. Much to my surprise it was a set of shorty headers and sound pipes from Renntech!

She knows me so well she knew I wouldn't want anything where I would have to cut up the stock system but that I wanted to get more sound out of the car! She settled on the Renntech pieces b/c the system required the least impact/cutting of the exhaust system. To install the sound pipes I did have to make a cut to remove the secondary cats and install the secondary cat bypass.

I have not installed the headers yet as it appears this job might be a little beyond my capabilities! It's pretty tight up in there and I cannot reach the top bolts on the top side of the stock manifolds........ Probably going to have to find someone locally to do this job. The sound pipes sound awesome and I cannot wait to get the headers installed.

I guess that kinda makes the decision about selling or not!

Happy birthday and congratulations, Chuck! Removing the secondary cats sure makes some beautiful music, doesn't it. Well, I'm just glad you'll keep the BS after all. Now it's time to take her to the track .

Congrats and happy belated. I was looking in the engine compartment of my C63 and wondered how I would access all of the nuts on the exhaust manifold.

Congrats! Any seat of pants power gains?

Best of luck getting those headers installed. If you don't mind weighing them as well that would be awesome!

.....I do have the sound pipe installed but not the headers yet. I'm getting them installed in a couple weeks.

The sound pipe alone didn't make a huge difference in sound except at start up. I have some vids I'm going to post once I get the headers installed.

The car has so much power out of the box I'm not sure I'd notice the slight bump (relatively speaking...) in power from the sound pipes. I haven't really driven it enough to give a good answer though...
