And here it is for sale nearly 500 more miles, and about $10k more. I think we can assume he did a trade in, or his dealer bought it and shopped it to other Benz dealerships? Anyhow even though they are local to me, I wont bother looking at it. Atleast they would offer it with CPO at that price?

Maybe an AMG Challenge car?

I agree with you, he's earned the low ball offers.
the funny part is that I spoke to this guy on the phone a little about the car and he was real upfront about tracking his car, and he said it has 800 miles on the track. He swore the dealership was buying it for 77k. If that's true that dealership will sit on that car for life if they want to make a profit.

His track must be really tough on brakes. I've got 900+ track miles and my rears don't look like that.

....guess that explains the half hearted attempt at selling on his own.

Has anyone actually purchased a BS CPO? I had two dealers tell me that you can't CPO a Black Series car. Plenty of dealers advertise them as CPO, but when they go to sell them and put the vin in the system it won't take it. If you did, are you sure that it is a MB warranty?

Good question as I too see a lot advertised as CPO cars. Hendrick Mercedes who has a dedicated AMG showroom/sales/service area here in Charlotte has Dale Ernhardt JR's CLK63 BS for sale and I specifically asked the sales person about this b/c I too have heard it can't be CPO'd and he said emphatically that it can be CPO'd. Would be nice to know definitively one way or the other......

I should have asked the AMG guys on the last fourm chat. I had another salesperson at Hendrick tell me they think they can, but not that they are sure they can. We'll see, I guess, when they sell it.

When I purchased my car, it had gone through the cpo process. They gave me a choice of CPO or the extended warranty the original owner had purchased. I decided on the extended (7 year 100,000 mile) instead of cpo.

Yeah, Mine's been through the dealer CPO inspection too, but that isn't the same thing as getting the CPO warranty from MB. That doesn't happen, from what I have been told, until the dealer sells the car and tries to put the VIN in the CPO system. I wonder what they would have said if you picked the CPO option?

Mine was CPO'd and I remember receiving the MB warranty paperwork so I'm pretty sure it can be done.

Which dealer did you get your car from?
