Matte black CLK63 BS - stunning!

I've not been a fan of the matte finishes on cars but this one is IMHO beautiful!!

This appears to be a Titan Motorsports in FL project. Anyone know anything about this car? Says on the blog they're putting DPE wheels with matte black centers on the car. Bet that's going to look really good.....

I've got to agree with you; matte also doesn't do it for me, but it does look very good on that car.

My first guess would be Tony Kanaan, but I think he has another shop do all of his work. If you think that looks sweet, you should check out their Supra's.

"The car in stock form makes 465hp/500tq"

I would hope that they would check the correct power outputs / proof read before posting mistakes in the text. Not overly professional.

The other way around makes more sense......500hp/465tq at least in the US.

Gotta say it looks stunning, needs the Vorsteiner carbon fibre front spoiler as the wrap missed the front spoiler.

Most cheesy matte black applications look like a bad black primer job--- this one is absolutely stunning, there seems to be some shine to it too or maybe thats my piss poor monitor but anyhow I think it makes the look.

This application is clearly classy and very well done.

Normally I'm a huge fan of well done matte black, and this paint is VERY nice, but I have to say that I don't like it on this car very much. The car has a lot of beautiful curves that this color is just hiding IMO.

I think that is actually satin black, not strictly matte.

I'll ask what is probably a really stupid question but I'm sure others are wondering the same thing...

How the F do you wax a matte-black car? How do you maintain the paint finish, keeping the paint healthy, without waxing/polishing? To retain the matte finish, wouldn't any type of polish/wax shine & buff the surface, eliminating the matte look?

Do owners just wash the car and let it go, or is there some type of matte-finish wax I'm unaware of? Gotta protect the paint somehow. Sorry for my ignorance but then again I've never even seen a discussion on this topic, much less an explanation.

I'm pretty positive they are just wrapped with vinyl. If that's the case then you are correct, you just wash it.

Oh and BTW: The MatteBlack Series is oh so beautiful

Right on, I understand if it's a vinyl wrap.

However many matte black cars are not vinyl wrapped. I'm still curious how one would properly maintain a matte black painted finish.
