I'm not sure if the setting is the same as my 06, but they did not work when I got my car also. Check your owners manual. There was a setting in lighting options that allows them to operate. It was easy and I changed the setting myself using the steering wheel controls.

#2 should be activated - DRL designed to operate at about half their normal power during daylight hours conserving energy and improving bulb life.

yeah if you have xenon the low beam xenon is your DRL. CLS I had in canada the low beam xenon was on all the time. If you have halogens then the high beam operates at low power as your DRL.
konigstiger, you should know that! Come on!

thanks guys now i got it.the reason i was confused was because my previous car 06 bmw 330i had xenon lights.but when i activate the DRL it was halogen bulb next to xenon which served as a DRL. but i guess MB uses same xenon at less intensity rather than the halogen bulb next to the xenon.

saala, actually the xenon runs at full intensity. You can't run them at partial power.
