Took her to 148-150 and it felt

so EZ..Wish the Trooper was not cruising in the lane in front of me, glad I have huge BRAKES.

This car is so fun to hammer from 90-190, anyone gone over 155 in a 63?

Not in a 63 but in my 55 and 65

Today I did a nice 60 to 160 run in the 65 ... watching that needle move so quickly is impressive.

Wow, I would have made it to 180 had the SP not been in my way. 172, did the car feel steady? At 150 it feels good. Did you or your brother run the 1/4 mile after the powerchip? You mentioned your time improved .4 Did your brother run? Thanks .

172 jeez imagine that ticket

Your abliity to hold the cam in one hand and drive in the other is a testimonal to the quality and design of AMGs. This is really an impressive clip.

BTW...Since the AMG Challenge, a bunch of us did these speeds on the oval at California Raceway but without tailgating the CHP.

Missed your 63 at the Calabasas Sunday AM meetup. Lots of exotics-check your PM.

I was returning from Sacramento Raceway from the EuroElites gathering. Thanks for the comments , the car is very steady and I am sure it feels great at 180 and above. I suspect you need alot of room from 150-190. The radar detector saved my 6 to 10 times. And it was a cheap COBRA. 59.95 at radio shack. It gave many false X alarms but 100% of the time sensed the k/a band from the troopers. I was amazed. I can only imagine how good that V1 is.

Thanks for the Invite Mike!

Ha!!! sounds like fun ... I rarely go WOT- just a quick punch and roar!! (the 55 roars and the 65 is a velvet hammer)

Oh the sneaky ECU reset doesnt hurt either. I do it probably once a week and the beast is truly unleashed (both of them). Then as you drive it normally it retains some more conservative settings and you need to do the reset again.

Okay here's my video. Also one handed, the other hand holding camera the whole time. The sound got cut off, sorry for the music, but I need it at that speed to keep my mind on the road. Car felt great and could have done a lot more. I should mentioned it was over 100F outside. Location undisclosed

Scary ...a night time blast !!!! Sio do you feel the car shut down at the limiter? Sounds like an episode of Dieter Sprocket the German Techno dancer!

Awesome vid, that initial blast from 70-120 seems like the sweet spot

I was at 90 already and the needle really popped suprised me. Watch after 125 though she settles down and the rpm is 5000-5700 at 145. Both cars similar on the top end cept I nearly rammed a SP, wonder how he failed to notice how fast I pulled him. I kept thinking as I passed him he would yank me over

the car didn't shut down at all, it just didn't go any more, although I was about a couple of hundred yards from a pack of Semi trucks anyway so I can't tell you for sure, the reason the camera went in my lap was that I had to kinda slam on the brakes a bit Minutes later I passed a state trooper at around 75 MPH, if he only knew lol. Although I am lying about this whole thing and I didn't do any of this, in case any LIOs are reading this. I have never exceeded the speed limit.

Yeah my story is so made up. I do not speed and when I do it is just to avoid danger, falling rocks, , getting out of the way of emergency vehicles etc..Sorry I started this thread I only wish my motorhome was capable of such speeds.

Lets hear more about the radar unit-my fastest is 160MPH so far (my son Brian HWY 154 Santa Barbara).

Any pics of the EuroElites. There is a Euro meet in San Diego sometime in August I believe. Is that a good meet to attend-any info?

I did 197mph in mine. Felt like flying only really low. Other than that the car felt great and confident.
