Hello,

Any authorized Mercedes shop can do this. The power gains for the pulley are roughly 20-25 through the mid range and the software gains will be on top of that. Its not as agressive as an overdrive pulley but then again, its not meant to be, furthermore your mpgs will be much better with a lightweight stock diameter versus an overboost pulley which will kill what little gas mileage those 55Ks have left.

If you are looking more for efficiency and improved performance as a substantial discount then this is the best option for you. If you are looking for 60-80HP+ (at a much higher price) then this route is probably not the best path for you, again it just depends on what you want.

Chart of Speedtunings software on 55k:

Hope that helps.

Hello,

The beauty if our design is it is 100% compatible with all the OEM components and also 100% compatible with all other modifications so it makes for extremely easy install. The stock OEM belts will do fine, although we do RECOMMEND you replace your old used belt with a new OEM belt purely for maintenance reasons so you do not have to do it down the road (resist the temptation be cheap, do the proper maintenance now it saves time and $ in the long run). As a general rule of thumb whenever replacing a pulley always replace the belts with it, the OEM belts are cheap and no additional labor is needed b/c you have to take it off to put new pulley on anyways so its perfect time to replace. If any of your belts have more than 20k miles on them we recommend replacing them.

In addition, because you do not have to replace any of the other pulleys the install is literally a 1-bolt installation, and can be done in roughly 1.5 hours at standard shop rates (+/- half hours depending on the shop and how close you are to your service rep).

Hope that helps clarify things for you.
~AMS~

In addition we have a special Dyno Rewards Program where you get a special dyno discount core after you provide dyno charts of your before and after on DYNO DYNAMICS brand dyno (This is ONLY valid on this brand dyno, we do not accept any other dyno). Allow 7 days in between before & after dyno to allow ECU to adapt. Thanks

Have a nice day,
~AMS~

We are located in TX. Any Authorized MB dealership can do the install easily. If you don't want to go there you can go to a few of the performance tuners. Just make sure it is a shop that specializes in tuning Mercedes and is not just a random small independent shop. The install is very easy and does not take much time at all. Hope that helps.

Will this void the warranty? What is the estimated HP gain with pulley and flash? Thanks.

Technically no it is not supposed to void warranty as to the precedent set by the Magnusson vs. Moss case but Dealership can try to get out of doing repairs . However, by law they have to prove an aftermarket part was specifically responsible, most of the time they just won't do any related repairs to it but won't actually void the warranty.

The gains should be somewhere in the 30+HP/TQ at the crank gained throughout the mid range. Its not as aggressive as an overboost pulley but then again you don't get alot of the headaches with it as well as easier install and much better gas mileage when comparing the two designs. Our Stage 1 is more about improving overall engine efficiency than flat out raw power at no matter what the sacrifice.

Hope that helps. have a nice day.

So, this is a 168mm pulley then since it will fit with a stock belt?

It is a 100% stock diameter pulley that replaces the much heavier stock OEM pulley. It is still fully harmonic dampened but is made out of very strong lightweight T6061 aircraft grade aluminum. The stock pulley is 10.5 lbs, ours is only 4.3 lbs so the weight reduction is drastic to say the least.

On his website there is a dyno graph from my dyno when i had it installed on my C55 I picked up about 15whp in the though out the low and mid range and 20wtq.

You may have read a post were my AMS pulley failed The dealer tied to blame the failure on bad install but there is no way you can install this part wrong. What really happened was the dealer was told to inspect the crank seal, they even say they did, Said it was not leaking and when i drove off from the dealer the crank pulley slipped and almost caused total engine failure. The dealer said they did not remove the pulley (thats BS) Funny thing was the car was fine when i dropped it off for a suspension leak. Thank god this pulley was made out of aluminum or it would have toasted my engine.

I feel its a good product and your shifts will be smoother for sure. The pulley is much lighter than stock and uses the same mercedes stock belt(s).

Not only did I like this pulley, AMS send me out a new pulley after mine failed due to dealer error. free of charge You cant beat that kind of customer service. Its just to bad that I dont think i can put the new pulley back on because my keyway on my stock pulley had to be modified to except the stock pulley. I really do miss having this pulley on my car.

I give this pulley a good product

Thank you Hooley for your kind words. It is a shame that installation error caused the failure. Either way we are glad to have helped to make it as easy of a transition as possible, we got to extremes (quite literally) to ensure customers satisfaction and we stand by our products 100%.

Technically though if it fits the stock pulley it should be able to fit ours since our pulleys are machined down very precisely to only a few 1/100ths of a mm. Feel free to give it a shot this time just MAKE SURE whoever installs it does it right this time, I would recommend the dealership themselves since they are most aware of the issue. Have a nice day.
