Whats wrong with my New AMG

Well I just got my 2006 CLS55 with 20k miles. I have to say, I think something is wrong with the car. It does not really feel fast to me at all. I see CLS55 on youtube burning rubber and doing donuts. My car cant burn rubber or even make the tires brake loose in a 90 degree turn when I floor it. I can sit at a light and floor it and the car just drive like nothing big. Ohhhhh yes I have the esp off. To remove this ad, register today or login if you already are registered!

Just cause it says CLS55 in the back doesn't mean it can do all the tricks. Cause it could have been a 550 and lost the zero at the end. Check under the hood and make sure there is a supercharger if not then you bought the wrong car! J/k man either way it should do donuts add all the fun stuff take it and have it looked at. I have a CLS550 and it burns out and I have a E55 and it does super hard burn outs.

The secondary air injection system is part of the emissions control system, and should be covered under the emissions warranty, and it will affect your power output. Good luck!

At first I thought the same thing Pearson ... I was having a heat soak issue and the ECU was reigning in the HP.

Felt like I was driving a V6.

Now I can floor it at 5mph and it lays 100 feet of rubber down.

I have a dumb question.

Are we to assume that you test drove it before purchasing it?

No I didnt, I got it in another state 1100 miles away. I have driven a C63, S550 and a ML63 all much faster then my car.. The car fax showed the car at the dealer for check up 200 miles prior to me buying it.

Good to hear ... Like I said. When I first got mine I was in the same boat thinking WTF??? This car aint sh!te.

Now I'm worried about my tire expenses.

When I bought mine , I test drove it ... and you could feel it was strong. But let's face it ... you don't do burn outs with the salesman in the car. (At least I don't ) So the heat soak issue I was having, which was shutting down the Kompressor, didn't rear it's ugly head until I had her alone and road her hard.

Interesting story I want to share...

When I was in the market for a cls55. I test drove it and came to stop sign... I turned off the esp, and the salesman got nervous and said NO, NO you don't want to do that. I told him to relax, I need to make sure this puppy runs right. So, I slightly brake tq'd and nailed the gas pedal the car fishtailed and left a nice long trail of smoke! The sales guy sat in silence then start laughing.

----------UPDATE-------
ITs a sad day today.
I got a call from the dealer saying they had changed the clucth pully and that did not fix the problem. Now they think they found the problem and its the engine contral m. that is not working.. The biggest problem is that it has to be made for the car in Germany and will take up to 2 weeks. they dont have any in the US..

We also have that problem here in the UAE, so many ****ing dumb ass posers, They buy like S350s and CLS350s and go to the extent of putting the quad exhauts, badges front aprons and rims, the only way you can tell if its a AMG is by the sound or the brake calipers , this should go under impersonation or something lol

They think? Do they diagnose problems with a pair of dice?

Good to hear!

Having gone through something very similar I can completely empathize with your feelings here.
