ECU Reset CLS55 AMG

Does anyone know if I reset my ECU will I lose the Programming on it and it reverts back to the factory settings or will it just reset the adaptive memory ?

Also is this the right way eo do a reset ?

ECU Reset:

- Turn the ignition key to the "on" position.

- Press the gas pedal to the WOT position (do not click though) and hold it for 5 seconds.

- Now turn the key to the off position but don't remove the key.

- Release the throttle.

- Wait 2 minutes .

Thanks

resets the adaptive memory and deletes alllll that great info its been saving so when you step on it while going at it with another car, it wont keep you in 5th gear like mine did.

isnt that the adaptive transmission reset? I will reset your driving habbits to its default factory setings, so if you drive hard all the time, do not do it... if your often stuck in traffic/or drive like a granny, do it..

now when you ask if it will remove programming, do you have a flash? It will not harm a flash. Its mainly a transmission reset.
