Why would you want to choke your engine with that particulate filter crap?

All it does is make the exhaust LOOK cleaner out the tailpipe. Visible soot may go down but the far more harmful NOx and HC emissions go up and fuel consumption increases significantly!

The Diesel Particulate Filter is one of the most idiotic and useless inventions ever made. The world would be much better off without it.

I agree, but the tax people in Europe and new local emissions regulatory committees require it.

Like most new legislations there are always supporters, most of them the "do-gooder" types. Slowly but surely they rob us of our freedoms.

Ditto with emission control laws.

The politicians love them for giving them opportunities to enact new laws and make themselves look useful.

The car equipment makers love them because of new businesses.
The police see them as new ways to pull you over for smoke & noise.
The only victim is the motorist. The sucker pays & has no political power.
