270 CDI Glow Plug issue

Hi all, my mom has a 2001 ML 270CDI and she called to ask me about the following.
When she first starts the motor, (hot or cold) the glow plug light stays on. She will then switch off, wait a few seconds then restart, and usually the light will be off. (Sometimes this takes her two or three cycles.) Otherwise, the light will be on for the entire trip. She does turn the ignition on and pause to allow the light to go off before the initial start as normal.

I would like to help her with a little more info before she makes the trip to the dealer. She lives on a small Caribbean island, and unfortunately the dealer techs there do not have the vast resources/equipment to diagnose some items.

All help would be appreciated. Will also post on the ML section in an attempt to maximize coverage. Thanks.

Codes P1_365, 1_367 & 1_369 refer to bad GP's #1&2, 3&4 & 5&6 respectively. Not all OBDII scanners will pull up those codes; the better ones will.

Could also be the relay. You can test both using a multimeter.
