window problems
The windows in my 280E will not roll down when I push the buttons. I am guessing it is a short. This problem happens with all the buttons. Does anyone have any ideas about the best place to start troubleshooting.

answer your other question your car must be an 81 280e's were not made in 84.
The door locks operate on air, your windows operate on motors if none of them are going down,a fuse must be shot.Find the fuse box.it may have a diagram or your owners manual may and pull the fuse for the windows and check it for continuity with a multimeter set to ohms.O ohms dead fuse, problem solved nice car ohlord

i've read that dirty switches can cause faults on the windows. get some Deoxit from Caig.com, or anti-static from Radio Shack and clean the contacts. Might solve the problem for less than $10.
