Where is the screen???

Just got the fuel tank out of my 1982 300tdt wagon and I can not find the screen. I pulled the sender out with a 1 13/16 socket and went thru it with brake cleaner and a cotton ball so it should work. The wires were not broken and the float was working fine when I got thru. There are 2- 5/16 lines on the top and 2- 5/16 lines coming out the side facing the driver but noooo screen. Planning ahead I already ordered a screen but i will have no where to put it. Is this the only model with out the screen or am I missing something???? Thank you.

Bottom of the tank with one of the hoses coming out the center, it takes the same 46mm socket as the level sender.
