TIRES! Anybody running Michelin Exalto PE2s on their wagon? My 17" staggered PS2s will be toast after the AMG track day in September and Tirerack has the staggered sizes on special at the moment.

225/45-17 PE2 - $152 (reg. $156)
225/45-17 PS2 - $188

245/40-17 PE2 - $172 (reg. $186)
245/40-17 PS2 - $212

By switching to the PE2s, I'd save about $150 on the set, get a better wear rating and supposedly get smoother and quieter ride.

Ohhh, let me know what you think, I need new tires myself. I bought a set of Barums from Discount Tire/Tire Rack and I have not been too happy with the tread life.

Barums? They must have quit carrying that brand....no longer on Discount Tire website.

What size do you have? Treadlife?

Barum is a Czech brand that Continental bought a few years ago.

I have 18's with 235 45's I think, and I have about 25k on the tires and they are at about 30% now

I had these tires and wheels on my 400E and after I rolled that I had the rims powdercoated and the tires were still road worthy. I"ll get through the rest of the summer just fine until i put my snow tires on, but I am used to getting 60k out of tires since I don't rally.


I am going to go with Michelin's or Yokohamas next.
