500e wheel options...

I picked up a 500e a couple weeks ago. A little bit of a project, but I've gotten almost everything sorted out already. (pics in a few days)

Anyway, I would love to pick up a set of BBS LM's, but I don't really see that as an option any time soon. So, these are the options I've come up with so far:

Mandrus Emil:

A nice flat faced wheel tends to look good on the 124 chassis.

http://www.passatworld.com/forums/sh....php?p=1973465

ADR M-Classics:

A decent alternative to BBS's, though not quite as good looking.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-In...Q5fAccessories

The car is "mother of pearl grey", which is kind of a blueish silver looking color.

Any input on style, preferred offsets and tire sizes is appreciated.

Also, if anyone knows where to get more accurate BBS replicas, I would love to check them out.

Thanks...

Mesh on a W124 IMO = no.

The first ones look like Zedstyle's wheels.

I'd do Carlsson/Farlsson or Brabus Mono 3 style or any VIP style wheel

You can always go with the old time favorite

...for which I have a set for sale
No, but seriously. You can't go wrong with Monoblock II's. I am very biased for them though. If I could, I'd throw them on my 260E too.

What's the budget for the 199? And don't say $643.00

Mmm... Monoblocks. Definitely one of the best rims for these cars.

You can get the style 42 from the bmw and have them modified to fit the w124. I've done it before with other bmw wheels..

I like the first set!

The second set, the "Elites";

Where are they made?

Are they round?

How much do they weigh?

BTW, welcome to the .036 !!!

i agree with don diego, i wouldn't go with the mesh...
the first ones DO look like mine, and i think they would look SICK on a 500! but i'm biased in absence of some nice 18" monos, i would go with those mandrus wheels in a hot second! they're like a new take on an old benz style... at least that's how i see my wheels when i look at them...
and again to agree with Z, i have always loved the older carlsson wheels, and you can't go wrong with a suitable VIP wheel, one of my faves is the AME shallen AX, i think they suit benzes well

not a benz, but still!

I know most mesh patterns look shltty on 124s, but you can't tell me LM's don't look nice:

Weekend shots of my 500E

Unless I can find some really good replicas, I likely will go with the Mandrus wheels. Zed, did you know that Mandrus is actually made by TSW? They are their Mercedes-specific branch. I had always liked holstens, but I don't think they have enough lip for the 500e. That's when I found the Emils.

I actually really like the Shallen AX's too, just not as much as the Emil.

Oh and Jorge, I don't plan on spending more than $1500. And that's only for some VERY nice BBS reps and wide rubbers.

Only $1,500 for a set of wheels AND tires?

Why don't you just save up a little bit more and get them?

I've seen a few W124's with silver and gold LM's and it looks hard as hell.

Come over when you get the chance - lets do a shoot by the beach. I got the car detailed last weekend

the LM-style wheels are more sporty looking and the mandrus are more staid, so i guess at the end of the day it comes down to what look you are going for...

I know John (500eguy) was planning on getting the same set - this is just to give you another idea...orrrr if you like them, they run under $1300.

Another option to the LMs: WORK VS-XX

What's your budget?

I may have a set plus spare of the rare 18" SL 2PC AMGs for sale wearing PS2s, the fifth is a front spare.
These wheels are mint, no curb or blemishes whatsoever, with minimal wear on the tires (maybe 95% tread).

Wheels wearing PS2s:
Front 18X8.5 - 245/40/18
Rear 18X10.0 - 275/35/18

Hit me up offline if you're interested:

Attached pic is from friend's 500. I can send you actual pics if there is genuine interest.

It's you're getting LM reps try to get the BB5 reps... those are the closest ones... If you want 17" BBS LMs they are around 1600-1800 refinished...

Hmmm, close, but those aren't the Neez 5Model's, those are SLA-18's J-AUTO has for sale instead, I think. These are the neez wheels which are a little bit different:

...go for the gold Justin, lol.
