'94 3.2 -- bad idle

I just purchased a 1994 e320 with the 3.2 inline6.
I'm new to MB, but I've owned and work on other Germans.

My question is that the CEL is on (I just bought it like that). I researched online and found out how to use the LED diagnostics method. It came up with 10 blinks, and only that 10 blink code.

I found online that the 10 blinks was the "10. Voltage at hot wire mass air flow sensor too high/low".
Does this mean a new MAF is in order for the fix?

Also saw that 10 was "10. Idle contact, throttle valve switch implausible" but not sure if that refers to me because it was under a 300e forum.

Anyone have the correct info/guide so I can solve this issue?

I guess yours is M104 HFM engine, 10 means MAF is open circuit. Is engine wiring harness replaced on that car? If not its time to replace it. Before replacing MAF check the wiring from sensor to ecu(continuity test with multimeter).

Here is the wiring diagram http://www.autolib.diakom.ru/CAR/Mer...GRAMS/4930.pdf

Great. Thanks for the info & diagram.

Wiring harness is not cheap though... The 1st thing i need to do is test the wiring and hope it holds current up to the MAF

While at it also inspect how bad engine harness is, not replacing wiring harness might prove costly.

Google for "MB Wiring Harness Failure" for more info.
