PLEASE HELP ! W124 92' Wagon 4 Matic trouble

OK, before I have disconected the battery for over 10 minutes the 4matic light was solid on now it gives one quick flash like every 5-10 seconds but if I hold the brake pedal down no flashing or solid light. After I shut off the car and restart again the 4Matic light stays on solid and the warning orange triangle comes on solid. The brake lights work but could it be that there's still a problem with the brake switch because I don't know what to do anymore and also when the 4matic light is flashing I can heat like the transfer case is trying to engage and then another click back.
Please help.
Thank you in advance

What you need to repl. is the pressure dampening sphere on the rear valve block. What happens is that the fluid pressure builds up and the system does it's self tests. When the self test gets done the pressure drops below the specified value and the system shuts down and the light comes on. Then the pressure builds back up and it starts over again. If you rev up the engine after start up then this should not happen as the pump is able to provide enough pressure to get through this process. I would not recommend not fixing this, it is just a good way of diagnosing the problem. You can also put a pressure gauge on and watch the pressure go up and down. The pressure dampener is pretty easy to repl. and I do not remember it costs all that much. Maybe 100-150 bucks but I think it was less.

good luck..

You wouldn't have the part no. or schematics by any chance ?

Thank you for the reply, what gets me is that the 4matic light gives me one flash all the time I guess on self diagnostics which means no trouble detected.
I will check it out for sure
Thank you again

Its a 92' I think the OVP relay is fine since I have no check engine light on or no hard idling when cold start

It is on the right rear under the car. Just in front of the wheel. There is a plastic cover that has to be unbolted. The 4-matic hydraulic valve block is there. All the solenoids and pressure sensor and the sphere is there. It is kind of hard to break loose though. Good luck

Looks like its getting better on its own

Could all the trouble be caused because the 4matic was turned off for a very long time. Today I'm was driving the car and I'm was getting less off the quick 4matic light quick flash. It would go stop until I would stop at traffic lights, take off so it would give me like 4 flashes about 3-5 secons apart, then 3, 2, 1 and no more flashes so I'm hoping it will stay off for good now. Did anyone had the same experience. Is this a way for the computer to reprogram it self or any suggestions please ?

You can set codes from the system being off. But you still need the pressure dampening sphere. All that is happening is that as you rev up the engine the pump is able to provide enough flow for the system to remain pressurized. When you come to a stop and take off the center diff is activated and that causes the pressure to drop again while at low engine rpm.
