I do not know about the actuator issues. If he is saying it is a throttle actuator however, he is completely wrong. It is definitely a transmission problem, I am just not sure of there being an actuator there.
The switch behind the pedal is a kickdown switch. It tells the tranny to downshift under WOT. Possibly also does something related to A/F ratios on cars with WOT fuel enrichment (pre-93 m119 cars)

SO YOU THINK THE TRANNY IS GOING BAD??? I FIXED THE SWITCH LAST NIGHT I AM GOING TO DRIVE THE CAR TODAY AND SEE! I THANK YOU FOR THE INFO!
