just happen to know that the wiper is on the same fuse as the blinker system ... but it might have another fuse running that... you checked alll the fuses.
there is a batch of them in the normal under hood fusebox
some in the side of the dash under a plastic flap/cover
some under the back seat by the battery
and less relevantly the ones inside the fake AC box.. under the hood
just incase you missed any

For the rattle and the stall, might be engine mounts. In theory I think bad mounts can cause a crank sensor (CPS) issue and stall the car out. Your CPS might also be bad.

If it's a rattle like marbles in a tin can, that can be your cats. They will make noise if you rev in park or when the car is decelerating.

Do you have a rough idle? Or a rough vibration when accelerating? That can be the engine mounts.

If your mounts are good, the stall could be just your CPS.

The cutting out could be the cats too... if the catalyst got lodged and blocked the exhaust flow. It would be weird for the car to start right up again though... plausible I suppose, if the catalyst dislodged as soon as the engine stopped.

Definitely go aftermarket cats if you're not in Cali. It's less than half the price of OEM.

Did you get under the car and inspect the exhaust pipes & cats? There's a bracket that clamps around both pipes just in front of the rear cats. If that pipe is loose at all, it rattles on the pipes and sounds JUST LIKE a rattling cat.

Also, do yourself, your neighbors, those driving near you, and the environment a big favor and keep quality cats and mufflers on your car.

I don't know if different cats change the sound that much...

IMO you can't make a v6 sound like a v8. All v8's have a unique sound because they fundamentally have mod8 frequency modes. (not all v8's sound alike, but they all sound similar to each other in a way that is different from any other engine... likewise all v6's will have a similar characteristic sound). A v6 will always sound like a v6 to anyone who knows what to listen for. You can make it louder, you can muffle high frequencies more or muffle low frequencies more (changing the "color" of the sound) but you can't change the fundamental character of the sound, since it's still a v6... IMO.

Aftermarket cats will make no real difference in the sound. If you want a little more sound, try the x-pipe modification that removes the resonator.
